Background
My name is Ethan Oiknine. I am originally from Las Vegas, Nevada, but my family is from all over the world. With my mom being born in Brazil and my dad being born in Israel, my family is very diverse (although they did not teach me any other languages).
Education
I am a senior at the University of Nevada, Reno, and I am currently studying Biology. However, that is not my main goal in life. My main goal in life is to open up my own physical therapy clinic, and it starts with me attending physical therapy school at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, starting this June 2026.
Work
To work towards this goal, I have worked in multiple clinics as a physical therapy technician to get a close-up with different physical therapists, as well as volunteered at the UMC hospital in Las Vegas to shadow different PTs in the inpatient setting as well.
Hobbies
Now, off of the technical stuff. I love playing sports, as I played soccer for 14 years, as well as played basketball and football here and there. Unfortunately, I am experienced in the athletic injury side of things, as I have had two ACL reconstruction surgeries. Other than sports, I also enjoy playing chess. I love to stimulate the brain and make myself think, and chess is one of the very best games to do so.
Conclusion
I am a person who believes everything happens for a reason. I am a hard worker who does not give up easily and will push myself to become better. I am adaptable, and have gained many skills from my jobs that I did not think I would learn, which can showcase my ability to pick things up as well as my adaptability. Whether it is dealing with customers at my ice cream job, talking to patients and insurance, or working in an office, I have been able to overcome adversity and put myself in a position to do the thing I love to do, which is to help others.
